Programs using the device don't give any errors.

hi, your card is recognized as:

pcm0: <Envy24 audio (Generic)>

instead as the correct:

pcm0: <Envy24 audio (M Audio Delta 66)>

and thus the wrong initialization of the card is done.

so, check if your snd_envy24.ko has support for M-Audio Delta 66:

strings snd_envy24.ko | grep Delta

if Delta 66 is not listed in the output then you just need to update
the driver, otherwise the problem is something more complex, because
your card reports correct device IDs for M-Audio Delta 66:

SubVendorID: 0xd632, SubDeviceID: 0x1412

and then it should be recognized as M-Audio Delta 66. in any case mail
what your checks show.

Hi.
I recently installed a Delta 66 PCI card (taken from a working machine)
but can get no sound from it.
Programs using the device don't give any errors.

Hi.
I recently installed a Delta 66 PCI card (taken from a working machine)
but can get no sound from it.
Programs using the device don't give any errors.
add: support for M Audio Delta 66
These changed haven't made it into 7.2. So you can either upgrade to 8.0 or
try merging the changes yourself and see if it works.
Thanks, didn't know about that.

I won't try any custom kernels this close to 8.0-RELEASE, I'll just wait.

Regards,
M

Quoting the commit log from SVN revision 188480:

add: support for M Audio Delta 66

These changed haven't made it into 7.2. So you can either upgrade to 8.0 or
try merging the changes yourself and see if it works.
